Week 13 Coastal Hazards: Saudi Arabia
The biggest Coastal Hazard to affect Saudi Arabia are coastal Flood. Throughout these weeks we see that The climate of a country goes hand in hand as to why certain thigs affects these countries. For example I mentioned that the soil content of Saudi Arabia was very dry which was a beg reason as to why so many floods affect it. the beaches in Saudi arabia provide protection but with the hekp of some rain the beaches can only do so much to protct the inland of Saudi Arabia. in fact this month Saudi Arabia experienced a flashflood hey didn't even know was possible as you can see the titles of the news calling it rare because even the map shows how far inland these coastal floods can go inside.
My colleague who is speaking about Sudan has spoken about how Global warming will only increase these issues of flooding and for Saudi Arabia especially the soil will be drier and the water levels will only rise so you would expect the floods to get worse and worse every 5 years with the same frequency of almost monthly floods but with more casualties and affected areas.
